Digital Currency Governance

Infrastructure of Digital Currencies
OWOI is convinced that global financial stability will benefit from improving on the existing banking systems. Looking at the possibilities in digital currency, and tokenization in order to enhance transparency, efficiency, and international collaboration.
Permissioned blockchain systems where there is centralized control would enable governments and authorized parties to have better control of access, transactions, and management of the system. However, this must be combined with controls against abuse of the power that comes from these centralizations.
This may include things like independent oversight, defined authority, governance structures, separation of responsibilities, security audits, and review processes of disputed decisions. If appropriate, control can be made by different independent bodies so that one party does not have all the control. The powers of freezing transactions, access, or modifying system regulations must be based on some set standards with proper review and appeal processes.
Reserve Assets for Digital Currencies
OWOI believes that creating reserve assets is a key factor in building digital currencies and tokenisation systems. Precious metals, chosen minerals, natural resources, treasury bonds and other government securities might be used as parts of reserve arrangements based on their market worth, liquidity, legal standing and fit for the goal.
To keep confidence reserve management could be backed by independent audits, clear reporting, definite ownership records, careful risk control and clear redemption rules. Safeguards must also stop the creation of tokens hiding of debts and misuse of reserve assets. When reserves back a currency their handling and checking should stay under independent review instead of the free choice of one institution.
OWOI calls for conversation, on building responsible reserve models that give financial steadiness, accountability and public trust while honouring national sovereignty and the laws that apply.
